Accessibility
Our commitment
Joanna Zatorska and HomeSmart Connect LLC want this website to be usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology such as a screen reader, keyboard-only navigation, or browser accessibility settings. We’ve built the site with accessibility in mind and continue to improve it.
What we’ve done
Practices already in place on this site:
- Skip-to-content link — the first interactive element on every page lets a keyboard user jump straight to the main content, bypassing repeated navigation.
- Keyboard operability — menus, forms, and interactive elements (the photo gallery, the search console, the review carousel) can be operated without a mouse, with a visible focus indicator.
- Descriptive alt text — photographs that convey real information (a property’s rooms, a town’s map) have a written description for screen readers; purely decorative images are marked so they’re skipped rather than read aloud unnecessarily.
- Structured headings — each page has a single main heading and a logical heading order beneath it, so screen-reader users can navigate by section.
- Reduced motion respected — if your device or browser is set to reduce motion, this site’s animations (image transitions, reveal effects) are minimized or removed automatically, rather than ignoring that setting.
- Readable contrast — text and interactive elements are checked against their background for sufficient contrast.
What we have not done
We have not performed a formal accessibility audit against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) or any other standard, and we do not claim conformance with a specific WCAG level (A, AA, or AAA). The practices above reflect a good-faith effort, not a certified result.
If something isn’t working for you
If you use assistive technology and run into a page or feature on this site that doesn’t work the way it should, please tell us — we want to fix it. Contact Joanna directly:
Phone / text: 773-501-3395
We’ll do our best to respond promptly and address the issue, and to offer an alternative way to get the information or service you need in the meantime (for example, over the phone).
Ongoing effort
This statement reflects the site as it exists today and will be updated as the site changes. Accessibility is an ongoing process, not a one-time task.
